We see a lot of people complaining that Chinese suppliers are difficult to communicate with. We understand the frustration.
In this blog post you get 3 tips to communicate with Chinese suppliers more effectively.
1. Be concise and specific
Avoid fluff. Get right to the point. Use as few words as possible to convey your messages. With first contact keep your request simple and clear. Once your supplier engaged, add all the relevant details.
As we highlighted in another article, when specifying your product requirements, you need to be as specific as possible.
2. Avoid slang
Put simply, slang doesn’t translate. Neither the supplier contact nor any online translation tool will be able to decipher what you mean. Simply avoid it.
3. Follow up verbal communication in writing
After a phone or video call, you need to follow up with an email covering the points discussed and what was confirmed on the call. If you have a call and don’t follow up in writing, do not expect anything to be done.
